Absente Absinthe is a French absinthe from Provence with a high percentage of anise, but with a very small amount of wormwood. Therefore, it can be sold in countries where absinthe is basically prohibited, because there it is considered pastis.

Absente (arthemisia vulgaris – common mugwort) is the twin sister of its poisonous brother absinthe (arthemisia absinthium – bitter mugwort).
